Natalija is an SPF addict, a complete lunatic — the kind of person who applies sunscreen on the beach every half hour before going into the water. By the time the rest of us are already deep in the sea, we can easily recognize the familiar sight: Natalija, smearing herself from head to toe, between her toes, behind her ears, under her arms.
In our friend group, everything is shared and everything belongs to everyone. Last June, we did our shopping for the seaside and set off following the trail of gyros and souvlaki. Believe me, we bought enough SPF for a family of six spending seven days at 27 degrees Celsius (on good days).
We did not realize that we were traveling with a maniac. By the third day, according to the rules, we ran out of protection. Natalija had used it all. Legend has it that she even covered the tote bag so it wouldn't burn.
It is important to mention that during those days there was almost no sun, and there is suspicion that Natalija protected the beach so thoroughly that the sun no longer dared to appear.
We are currently getting ready for the seaside. The first sentence was: "Natalija, you're buying your own SPF this year." I'm afraid we won't have enough room in the trunk to deport the July sun out of Greece.
